Experiencing problems
accessing the AFN Loan Management Server?

A small number of new clients may experience difficulty in accessing the Loan Management Server. In almost all cases the problems have been found to be with settings or programs on the client's own computer. We test the website on a daily basis to ensure accessibility.

Listed below are the two most common problems and the recommended courses of action to remedy those problems. These solutions are based on the current Microsoft Windows XP operating system and Internet Explorer. Older versions of the Microsoft software will be slightly different. Other operating systems and browsers will be slightly different.

Problem No 1 - the URL buttons for the LinkLoan and Flexi Loan appear as rectangles with a red x in the top left hand corner

Solution No 1 - the Access button should appear as either a red or blue rectangle with white script. If this is not the case you may need to reinstall "Java Virtual Machine" Current versions of the Microsoft Windows XP operating system may not have this programme included. You have the following options a) go to www.Java.com and select the automatic download, or b) go to www.microsoft.com and download the updates. There is no cost associated with the Java download. However, the Microsoft updates may take a long time, and if your software is not registered you may have problems with the Microsoft update.

Problem No 2 - Nothing happens when I double click on the Flexi Loan button.

Solution No 2 - The most likely cause is that you have turned on your "pop up blocker".

Pop ups are usually those annoying ads the literally pop up on websites. Often they are a revenue raiser for the website owner. However, they're also used in many websites to perform functions such as accessing secure parts of the site.
Access to the Flexi Loan management server requires the use of a "pop up" window - this is the only pop up on our website.

The recommended solution will allow you to block pop ups on all other sites except AFN's website.

Internet Explorer - Go to the Internet Explorer tool bar at the top of your current screen
a. select "tools"
b. "Pop up Blocker"
c. "Pop up Blocker settings" - this will bring up a "pop up screen"
d. type in "www.australianfinance.com.au" in the exceptions field
e. click on the "add" button and close the box

Your computer should now allow "pop" ups" on the AFN website.

Google tool bar
If you have installed the Google tool bar on your browser - it also has a "pop up blocker" - ensure that it is temporarily turned off when accessing the AFN site.
If problems persist or you require further assistance, please phone (03) 9890 0822. However, you may also need to consult your computer technician.
